Kick off the day at a bright and early 8:30 am, departing from Hobart to embark on a scenic journey to the awe-inspiring summit of Mt Wellington/Kunanyi. Rest assured, the breathtaking vistas atop this peak are ones for the memory books. From here, journey through the captivating Huon Valley, a place steeped in history as an apple industry hub, now renowned as the stomping ground for Tasmania's finest cider makers. The highlight? Visiting Willie Smith Cider Apple Shed, where the ultimate cider-tasting experience unfolds, complete with a deep dive into the artistry of cider-making. The tranquil backdrop and rich orchard history amplify the experience.
Next on the agenda, a visit to the Honey Pot to sample an array of raw, natural honeys, featuring unique flavors like Leatherwood, Manuka, Prickly Box, and Bush. The journey continues to Pagan Cider for a second round of cider tastings, followed by a mouthwatering lunch courtesy of Wursthaus Kitchen, where local ingredients take center stage.
