Tagaytay has a mild tropical monsoon climate, with colder temperatures than Manila, lower humidity, and moderate rainfall. The average temperature in the city is 22 °C (72 °F) and rarely surpasses 31 °C (88 °F).

Tagaytay Transportation

Tagaytay is easier to reach by own vehicle. For tourists, you can take a taxi from Manila’s NAIA airport to drive you directly or book a vehicle service to transport you from the airport or your hotel. Otherwise, you can take a bus from a terminal or bus company like DLTB PITX terminal and DLTB Buendia terminal. The trip from Manila to Tagaytay takes about 1-2 hours, depending on traffic.
Moving around Tagaytay without a car can be challenging since the tourist attractions and restaurants are in different locations. Taxis and other private services are unavailable unless you rent before going here. Riding a jeep or a tricycle is the only alternative way.

Tip: For first-time travelers to Tagaytay, it’s more convenient if you ride private transportation, whether rented or own, to maximize your time touring around Tagaytay.

Must-eat Foods in Tagaytay

Here are the popular foods you should not miss when visiting Tagaytay. All are primarily available in different restaurants with great views!

To warm up your tummy, eat the famous Bulalo in Tagaytay. The Bulalo is a light-colored soup with marrow and beef leg bones richened by braising cow shanks. The meat and ligaments come apart when you eat them. It also has vegetables. 

Want to taste a fish with a twist that does not have bones? Try the crispy Tawilis (Sardinella), Lechon Kawali, Sisig,  Kare-Kare, and more. Philippine dishes are also delicious dishes you should try.
