Best Tenerife Scuba Diving Tours & Sites

Across the 128 options we compare, most scuba diving experiences cost between $52 and $112, with a median price of around $80. While you may occasionally see listings starting as low as $29 or extending up to $251, these represent the outer edges of the market. We recommend focusing on the core band for standard group dives, while higher prices usually reflect private formats or extended durations.

The duration varies depending on whether you are doing a quick intro dive or a full certification course. Most options fall between 2 and 6 hours, with the median experience lasting about 2.5 hours. If you are looking for a half-day activity, you will find plenty of choices in this window, though some multi-dive packages may take longer.

Booking ahead is generally advisable, though not strictly urgent for every single listing. Only 2% of the options we track (roughly 3 tours) are flagged as likely to sell out, which suggests that availability is fairly open. However, given the high demand reflected in the 4.74★ average rating across more than 35,000 reviews, securing your preferred time slot in advance ensures you get the best guide and boat allocation.

Tenerife’s diving scene is highly international. The options we compare are offered in 8 languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Russian, Polish, and Dutch. This wide linguistic coverage means you can easily find a guide who speaks your native tongue, regardless of whether you join a large group tour or a smaller private session.

While inclusions vary by operator, the most common features you can expect to find are:

• Guide Included (found in roughly 37% of options)
• Equipment Provided (available in about 30% of options)
• Insurance Included (present in 13% of options)
• Photos Included (offered in 11% of options)
• Hotel Pickup and Drop-off (provided in 9% of options)

We advise checking the specific listing details, as equipment-only packages are also common if you prefer to bring your own gear.

Yes, but they represent a small minority of the total inventory. About 20 of the options we compare (16%) are tagged as eco-friendly, indicating operators who prioritize sustainable practices or marine conservation. In contrast, only 1 option (1%) is explicitly tagged as family-friendly, suggesting that most diving activities here are geared toward adults or certified divers rather than young children.

The data shows a clear preference among travellers. The largest share of options (46%) are dedicated Scuba Diving tours, followed by Snorkeling (35%). In terms of traveller profiles, the tours are broadly suitable for general adventurers, but specific tags indicate that Certified Divers make up 3% of the target audience, while Couples account for 2%. The overwhelming majority of experiences (87%) focus on Nature themes, making them ideal for those seeking underwater wildlife and reef exploration rather than thrill-seeking water sports.

Tap water is safe but tastes salty. Most locals and tourists prefer bottled water for better taste.

A car helps reach remote areas easily. Buses work well for main towns but limit flexibility.

Pack warm layers even in summer. The summit gets very cold, so bring jackets and sturdy boots.
