Shanghai Excursion: Yiwu Market Guide

The options we compare across booking platforms typically cost between $198 and $260, with a median price of around $255. While the full spread can reach from $40 to $520 depending on the level of service, most travellers find value in the mid-range private tours. For those seeking the best balance of cost and quality, Shopping Tours average $205 while maintaining a perfect rating.

Duration varies significantly based on whether you choose a focused market visit or a broader regional trip. Most options run for about 10 hours (median), but the total span covers anywhere from a full day (8 hours) to an extended multi-day experience of up to 2.1 days. If you are planning your schedule, check the specific itinerary as some include overnight stays or travel to nearby cities.

This category stands out because it is heavily skewed toward private experiences. Roughly 78% of the options we compare are private tours, meaning you will likely have a dedicated guide and vehicle for your party rather than joining a large public group. Only a small fraction are shared group tours, making this ideal for business buyers or families who prefer personalized attention.

You can book tours in 7 different languages: English, Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Thai, and Italian. Since the majority of options are private tours, language preference is usually flexible and can be specified at the time of booking. This makes it easy to find a guide who matches your native tongue or business requirements.

Most comprehensive packages go beyond just entry tickets. The common inclusions across the options we compare are:

• Guide Included (present in 67% of options)
• Entry Ticket (included in 56% of options)
• Hotel Pickup and Drop-off (available in 56% of options)
• Transfer/Transport (included in 33% of options)

Since many tours involve travel outside Shanghai, such as by bullet train or bus, checking if transport is included is crucial for accurate budgeting.

Data suggests that Shopping Tours offer the strongest value proposition. They average a 5.0-star rating while costing around $205, which is at or below the typical price band for all tours combined. Given that shopping is the primary theme for two-thirds of the options, this format seems to deliver high satisfaction without the premium price tag often associated with luxury city tours.

Booking ahead is recommended, especially for private tours which make up the vast majority of inventory. Regarding flexibility, roughly 44% of the options offer free cancellation, giving you some leeway if your plans change. Additionally, about 67% provide instant confirmation, allowing you to secure your spot immediately after payment.
