Yes, we strongly recommend booking in advance. About 21% of the options we compare (27 listings) are flagged as likely to sell out. Because historical tours are the dominant theme here, availability can be tight, especially during peak travel seasons.

The majority of experiences focus on sightseeing and history. When looking at what is bundled into the price, you will find that:

• Entry tickets are included in about 64% of the options.
• An audio guide is available in half of the tours.
• A live guide is provided in roughly one-third of the experiences.
• The ferry ride itself is part of the package for about a third of the listings.

Basic ferry-only tickets exist, but many travellers prefer the added context of a guided or audio-assisted visit.

Duration varies significantly based on the format. Tours typically range from 2.5 hours to a full day, with a median duration of about 4.8 hours. If you opt for a self-guided visit, it tends to be on the shorter end, while private or combined city tours may take longer.

Skip-the-line access is rare; only about 5% of the options (6 listings) explicitly include this feature. However, if you prefer a more exclusive experience, private tours make up about 11% of the inventory (14 listings). These allow for a customized itinerary and are often better suited for small groups or families wanting flexibility.

You have solid multilingual support. We compare tours offered in 8 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. This makes it easier to find a guided experience that matches your preference without needing an external audio device.
