In spring, flows are high and fast. In the summer, water levels drop, exposing rocks and other submerged obstacles. Keep your feet elevated and, when approaching rapids, also lift up your back-side. Otherwise, be prepared to get a few bruises. Bring a waterproof camera: Filmcameras are largely a thing of the past, but the faces your fellow floaters will make as they get hit with a splash of cold water will be priceless - or, at least worth the price of a disposable waterproof camera.
