KURANDA
Be surrounded by the colorful, lively world of Birdworld Kuranda, one of Australia’s largest collections of free-flying birds. With 60 rare and multiple other bird species from Australia’s rainforests and all across the globe, you’ll have plenty to see. Gasp at Amazonian macaws, the endangered cassowary, black cockatoos, fig parrots, galahs, little corellas, black swans, and then some. Capture stunning photographs while you’re at it! This is definitely one of the most unique wildlife attractions in all of Tropical North Queensland. The attraction is landscaped with ponds, exotic & native plants, and waterfalls. As you surround yourself in the rainforest-like habitat, feel at one with the inhabitants and nature as a whole!
Head out to a boutique wildlife attraction, located at the striking Kuranda rainforest village, the Kuranda Koala Gardens! This wildlife park is home to a wide range of Australian animals, like koalas, wallabies, wombats, quokkas, gliders, and freshwater crocodiles! The recently-opened Aussie Bush Collection boasts a fascinating combo of marsupials and reptiles, living harmoniously with each other. Wave at the long-nosed Potoroos, bearded dragons, and blue-tongue lizards, all at the same place! The Tableland region exhibits nocturnal animals, giving you the chance to come face-to-face with some night-loving marsupials, such as the rare Mahogany glider, the Greater Bilby, and the northern Bettong.
