Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country. And one of the worthiest places to visit in the World. Many people go to Bali for islands, temples, and natural beauty. Others prefer to go to the UAE for shopping malls and artificial beauty. Vietnam is a combination of both. You can know about ancient cities, history, rich culture, motorbike rides, relax on a beach, visit local markets, or try their fantastic street food. Vietnam is the perfect place for you. We compiled the best Vietnam itinerary for 2 weeks according to your interests.
VIETNAM ITINERARY TWO WEEKS PLAN
Things to do in Vietnam-2 week itinerary
First, whenever you make a plan for Vietnam or any country, I recommend brainstorming. You should know how much time you are planning to visit Vietnam. You should distribute your days wisely according to the places you want to visit.
Versatile country
With all the options, whether its history, ancient temples, beaches, and landscapes, etc. Vietnam is a relatively large country. The more time you have, the more you can explore. Vietnam has the two most attractive cities, which are in opposite directions. “Saigon” is in the south and “Hanoi” is in the north. Some people go from south to north; some prefer to travel from north to south. These two places are a must-visit.
Planning to go for 2 weeks in Vietnam is enough for exploring a country. I would suggest you add Saigon and Hanoi to your bucket list. Also, you should plan Two to Three activities per day as you plan the Vietnam itinerary for 2 weeks of exploration. But if you have a Vietnam itinerary for 7 days, you will have to plan Four to Five activities per day. It would be hectic for you. In my opinion, 2 weeks in Vietnam are the best duration to visit many cities. So, the first city you land in is Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City.
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon): Day 1 to 4 (Four days)
1st day in Ho Chi Minh City
Best Vietnam Itinerary 2 Weeks is the best itinerary for you to enjoy Vietnam in 15 days. Ho Chi Minh City is also known as Saigon, which is located in southern Vietnam. You should do a bit of research before heading to any place. There are so many motorbikes in this city. It is famous for PHO that is Vietnamese noodle soup. You cannot come to Ho Chi Minh without trying this noodle soup. As Ho Chi Minh is the largest city, so you should have at least three to four days in this city to explore their culture, their food, and their amazing places.
The first thing you would do after waking up is to have breakfast, and you can have their famous Vietnamese noodles. If you are fond of shopping and eating different foods, you should go to the “Bin Tay Market,” which is a wholesale market. It has almost everything from clothes to food to snacks. The second activity you can do as a traveler is to visit their temple, “Thein Hau temple,” which is the most well-known temple in this area. Third and the last activity on the first day is to visit the Museum of Ho chi min city. It has a beautiful building, and it has Vietnamese cultural and traditional exhibitions as well.
2nd day in Ho Chi Minh City
On the second day, I would recommend you to visit “Bitexco Financial Tower” which is the tallest building in Saigon. There is a café on the 50th floor where you can have coffee or a snack. Secondly, you can visit the “Independence Palace,” also known as “Reunification Palace.” It is one of the essential landmarks in Saigon city. Formerly it was the house of the president but now a museum. Moreover, you can see the brutal history of the War in Vietnam there. Tanks, military weapons, and vehicles are part of the exhibition.
3rd day in Ho Chi Minh City
On the third, I would recommend you to visit the most recognizable place which is the Opera house. It has a beautiful building, and there are shows available. You can buy tickets to see the inside or just see from the outside to admire the colonial architecture. Also, if you want to see designer boutiques, there is a street name Dong Khoi Street. You can walk around shopping malls and buy trendy designer clothes. It’s an exciting and fun place to visit, especially if you take your kids with you.
In addition, your kids will like the Saigon zoo and botanical garden. This place is calm and beautiful compared to the crowded and busy streets. People come here for the botanic garden to have a picnic.
4th day in Ho Chi Minh City
On the last day, I would only plan for one or two attractions, as we have to go to new places. On this day, I would suggest visiting the Vietnamese street food which is famous in Saigon. You can have a variety of sensational food at this amazing food street. You can’t miss it when you’re in Saigon.
Da Lat city: Day 5 to 7 (Three days)
Moreover, the next stop is Dalat city which is so romantic and the capital city of Lam Dong province Vietnam. This is the nearest option from Saigon, and we can quickly go by bus or train. This place has beautiful lakes and waterfalls. It has a variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. If you have something for nature, this place is for you. Three days would be enough for this beautiful place.
5th day in Da Lat City Vietnam
We have already spent four days in Saigon, where we have visited more of the historical side of Vietnam now. This is the time for Da lat. On the first day, you should walk around the streets to explore the coffee shops and the food. Then, the first place to visit is the Da Lat Flower Garden, you will see more than 300 flowers. A lake is in between the garden, which is the attraction of this garden. The best thing is they greet you with a flower at the park entrance. Enjoy and rest peacefully tonight as we will explore this beautiful city more.
6th day in Dalat City Vietnam
The second day is for sightseeing and enjoying waterfalls. The first place for today is the very famous Elephant waterfalls. This waterfall is named Elephant because of the giant rock, which looks like the head of an Elephant. In addition, you can visit tunnel falls, where you can find a roller coaster in the forest.
7th day in Da Lat City Vietnam
This last day is to travel from Dalat to Nha Trang. We will go by bus that would take approximately 6hours from Dalat. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing on a beach in Nha Trang city.
Nha Trang city: Day 8 to 9 (Two days)
Nha Trang city is located on the south-central coast of Vietnam. It is a combination of the town and the sea. Nha Trang city is famous for its beaches, islands, and its unique culture. People come here to enjoy and relax on the beach. Two full days to explore Nha Trang city would be enough, and on the third day, we will leave for our final destination, Hanoi.
8th day in Nha Trang City Vietnam
You can visit this place by renting a motorbike or in a taxi, whatever suits you. In Nha Trang, there is a place named Collective Mud Bath, which is an exciting and unique thing to see. You can buy a ticket for a mud bath, and there, you have to take a shower before going for a mud bath. After the mud bath, you have to sit in the sun for a good five minutes, and then you have to take a hydrotherapy shower for a minute or two. Check out this discount for the mud bath and hot spring experience.
Hydrotherapy shower is mighty and a bit painful. The next step is the hot mineral bath, which has the same type of structure as a mud bath. You have to stay in hot water for 30 minutes, which is very relaxing. You can spend the whole day here as the procedure of the mud bath is quite long, and after that, you can spend your day in the swimming pool.
9th day in Nha Trang City Vietnam
On the second day in Nha Trang city, you can visit this historical temple, which is the “Po Nagar Cham Tower.” It has a beautiful building and is made up of red square bricks. This temple was made by the chams, and they ruled Vietnam for 10 centuries. Come to take photos as the view is spectacular. This is the last day in Nha Trang, and we will move to our next destination, that is, “Hoi An.”
Hoi An city: Day 10 to 11 (Two days)
NHA TRANG TO HOI AN CITY
You can go to Hoi An from Nha Trang by air, by bus, and by train as well. Traveling at night from Nha Trang to Hoi An by air, bus, or train will leave you with the entire next day to explore Hoi An. From Nha Trang to Hoi An, the airplane is the fastest but most expensive. Thus, the 12 hour night bus to Hoi An is also a good option.
Also known as Ancient Town, Hoi An is a little town located in central Vietnam. Two days in Hoi An is enough for this Vietnam itinerary for 2 weeks. Hoi An is a must-visit place for 2 weeks in Vietnam Itinerary. In Vietnam’s itinerary of 7 days, you can skip Hoi An and directly catch a flight to Hanoi.
10th day in Hoi An City Vietnam
Whenever you plan to go Hoi An, keep one thing in mind, and that is their Lantern Festival. This lantern festival is a monthly event that celebrates the full moon. Hoi An looks so pretty with these colorful lanterns at night. Here is a ‘walking tour and lantern-making class‘ to make your trip more memorable.
In addition, the tailoring of Hoi An is very famous so, you can visit the place, “Hoi An Tailors.” You can choose the fabric, give your measurements, and the next day, you will get your stitched suit or dress. Moreover, you can visit the “Hoi An Central Market”. If you are a food lover, this place is the best option for you. This market has a different variety of food, and they have incredibly affordable food on their stalls.
11th day in Hoi An City Vietnam
Furthermore, on the last day, you should not have many activities because you have to travel to the next city. You can visit those places which are near to your hotel on the last day so you will not feel tired. On day 11th, you will take your flight from Hoi An to Hanoi, which will take almost 3 hours to reach Hanoi. If you choose the train for traveling from Hoi An to Hanoi, it will take 18.5 to 19 hours. Also, if you want to take a bus, then it will take approximately 16.5 to 17 hours to reach Hanoi. I prefer to go by bus or train at night as it will take more than half a day to travel.
Hanoi city: Day 12 to 14 (Three days)
HOI AN TO HANOI
In the 2 weeks in Vietnam itinerary, you should have Hanoi on your bucket list. In the Vietnam itinerary for 7 days, Hanoi and Ho Chi Min city are the must-visit places. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, and it is situated in the north of the country. It is known for its old and beautiful architecture. Hanoi influences the Chinese and French. Also, it has more temples and landscapes than Ho Chi Min city. Hanoi is more traditional, so if you know about Vietnamese culture, Hanoi is a place for you to explore their culture and their traditional lifestyles.
12th day in Hanoi City Vietnam
Hanoi has very delicious and fantastic food, so, on the first day in Hanoi, you can try their different foods. Next, you can visit their different street like Chicken Street, where you will find only the chicken. Another street is named Hanoi Train Street, which is super busy. We have heard that this street is no longer available so you will not be able to visit this street now. Hanoi is a well-known place in Vietnam, and it is famous for the place name “Old Quarter.” This place is the heart and soul of Hanoi. You will find it crowded every time, whether it’s day or night. You will find live music, discos, and a bar at night in the Old Quarter. This place has all sorts of activities.
13th day in Hanoi City Vietnam
An exciting place you can visit in Hanoi is, “Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre.” Every country has its uniqueness, so Hanoi has its water puppet show. It was originated by farmers in the Red River Delta. We all must have seen the puppet show in our childhood, and this will bring your childhood memories back. This puppet show performs in a pool, and puppets are controlled by their puppeteers. You can book your tickets according to your preferred time.
14th day in Hanoi City Vietnam
Finally, your last day in Hanoi, Vietnam. You will have so many new experiences, stories with you. On the previous, you can visit the temples and museums near your hotel. Visit the very famous “Hoan Kiem Lake,” which is also known as “Ho Guom.” This is a historical place and has freshwater, which is so relaxing and calming. Hoan Kiem Lake is also near to the Old Quarters and almost close to all the hotels as well. In a Vietnam itinerary for 2 weeks, you can enjoy more than compared to the seven days itinerary plan.
We hope you enjoyed this packed itinerary for your best travel to Vietnam. Leave us some comments on your experience here.
