Compare Top-Rated Schönbrunn Palace Tours

When comparing options across booking platforms, prices typically range from $62 to $170, with a median of around $81. The full spread is wider, ranging from about $20 to $550 depending on the format and inclusions. Budget-friendly choices often focus on basic entry or self-guided audio tours, while premium private experiences or those including meals and exclusive access sit at the higher end.

The most common format is a sightseeing tour, which makes up the majority of the 162 options we compare. Museum tours and walking tours also represent significant shares, while dedicated palace-specific tours and classical concerts make up a smaller portion. Most listings (68%) are guided group tours, though there are plenty of private options (19%) and self-guided experiences (18%) if you prefer independence.

About one-third (33%) of the tours we compare include skip-the-line access, which can save significant time during peak seasons. While not every option offers this, it is a common feature among mid-range guided tours. If avoiding long queues is a priority, look for listings that explicitly mention fast-track entry or pre-booked timed slots.

Guided tours are available in eight languages: English, German, Spanish, Italian, French, Polish, Russian, and Japanese. Since English and German are widely available, they tend to have the most frequent departures. If you require a specific language other than these, check the details of individual listings as availability can vary by date.

There are a few tagged eco-friendly tours (14% of options), though these tags are loosely applied and do not imply formal certification. Family-friendly options are rarer, with only a small handful (2%) explicitly marketed toward families. For most travellers, standard guided tours work well for all ages, but if you have young children, review the itinerary details to ensure the pace suits them.

Duration varies significantly based on the type of experience. Most tours last between 1.5 and 4 hours, with a median duration of around 2 hours. Shorter options (under an hour) are usually focused on the main palace interior or garden views, while longer formats may include the Gloriette, maze, or zoo access. Always check the specific timeframe listed, as some multi-attraction passes can take half a day.

With over 40,000 pooled reviews across platforms, the average rating sits at 4.36 stars. The sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with approximately 84% of analysed products receiving high marks. Booking ahead is recommended since popular time slots sell out quickly.
