Top-Rated Victoria & Butchart Gardens Tours

Across the 52 options we compare on booking platforms, prices generally range from $169 to $1,284, with a median of around $220. The spread is wide because some listings are basic entry tickets while others are full-day private experiences. Most standard group tours fall in the $188–$490 band.

The most common add-ons are transportation and guided commentary. About half of the options (48%) offer free cancellation, and roughly half (46%) include a guide. Other frequent inclusions are:

• Hotel pickup and drop-off
• Ferry ride across the strait
• Bus or coach transportation

Private tours make up a small share of the market here. Only about one in five options (17%) are tagged as private, compared to the majority that are group tours (71%). If you want flexibility and personalized attention, the private options are available, but they tend to sit at the higher end of the price spectrum.

These are substantial all-day commitments. The typical duration is between 11 and 14 hours, with a median of 13 hours. You will need to plan for a full day, as the travel time to Victoria via ferry or bus adds significantly to the experience.

Guides are available in 7 languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Polish, Russian, Cantonese, and Japanese. This makes it easier for international travelers to find a guide who speaks their preferred language without needing to book a specialized private tour.

Sustainability is not a major differentiator for this specific tour group. Only a handful of options (6%, or 3 listings) are tagged as eco-friendly. The vast majority focus on sightseeing and nature appreciation rather than certified green practices.

The sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. With an average rating of 4.71 stars across more than 10,000 pooled reviews, guests frequently describe the day as "fantastic" and "excellent." Common praise highlights the beauty of the gardens and the quality of the guides. Booking ahead is recommended, as a small number of options (8%) are flagged likely to sell out due to high demand.
