Compare Private Boat Charters: Malta & Gozo from Valletta

When comparing the 7 tour options we track across booking platforms, prices generally range from $292 to $1,047, with a median price of $547. The full spread of available listings can vary more widely, from around $25 to $2,487, depending on the vessel size and specific itinerary. Because these are private charters rather than shared group tours, the cost reflects exclusive use of the boat for your party.

The data shows a very clear focus: 100% of the options we compare are categorized as Cruise and Sailing experiences. In terms of themes, the majority (86%) emphasize Nature, while 57% focus on Relaxation and 29% on Adventure. You can expect smooth sailing along the coast, scenic views of the limestone cliffs, and opportunities to spot local wildlife rather than high-adrenaline water sports.

This is a standout feature of this category. We found that 71% of the options (or roughly five out of seven) are explicitly tagged as Private Tours. This means you will likely have the boat to yourselves, allowing for a flexible schedule and personalized attention from the captain. Only a small fraction of the listings appear to be shared group departures.

Duration varies significantly based on whether you want a quick coastal cruise or a full-day exploration. The typical duration ranges from about 2.4 hours to 8.2 hours, with a median time of 6 hours. If you are planning a full day trip between Malta and Gozo, expect to be on the water for closer to the upper end of that range.

Language support is limited but covers the two most common tongues for international visitors. Across the options we compare, tours are offered in English and Italian. It is worth checking the specific listing details before booking if you require another language, as multilingual crews are not the standard for this niche.

Booking ahead is advisable because only one option (about 14%) offers instant confirmation, meaning most require manual approval from the operator. Additionally, sustainability is a growing consideration; one listing (14%) is tagged as eco-friendly. While these tags are loosely applied by platforms, it suggests some operators may use smaller vessels or follow specific environmental guidelines.

Travelers consistently rate these experiences highly. The average rating across the pooled reviews is 4.84 stars, based on 855 combined reviews from various booking platforms. This strong consensus suggests that the private nature of the tours delivers reliable quality, good service, and memorable scenery for most guests.
