Yes, private tours are a dominant format for this activity. We find that 30 of the 45 options (67%) are private tours, which is unusually high compared to other group activities. This means if you prefer a personalized itinerary without sharing a boat or guide with strangers, the majority of your choices will cater to that preference. The remaining options are split between guided group tours and smaller semi-private formats.

Travelers should plan for a significant time commitment, as most tours run between 6 and 10 hours, with a median duration of 8 hours. These are rarely quick half-day trips; they are typically full-day excursions that combine snorkeling with sightseeing or waterfall visits. If you have a tight schedule, look closely at the specific itinerary details, as some shorter variations may exist but are less common.

While 36 of the options (80%) offer instant confirmation, it is still wise to book ahead for peak seasons. High-demand slots, particularly for private tours or those with hotel pickup, can sell out quickly. Booking early ensures you secure your preferred language guide and departure time, rather than risking limited availability on the day of travel.

The options we compare are offered in 8 languages, making it relatively easy to find a guide who speaks your native tongue. The available languages include English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Malay, and Ukrainian. When filtering your search, you can specify your preferred language to ensure clear communication throughout the snorkeling and sightseeing portions of the trip.

With an average rating of 4.76 stars across 5,734 pooled reviews, traveler sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. Common themes in feedback include descriptions of the experience as 'amazing,' 'super fun,' and 'very beautiful.' Reviewers frequently highlight the abundance of fish and the comfort of the boats. While the vast majority of guests recommend the tour, a small number of reviews mention that popular spots can get crowded during peak hours, so arriving early or choosing a private option can help mitigate this.
