Compare Best Besakih Temple Tours

When comparing the 15 options we track across booking platforms, prices typically range from $36 to $144. The median price sits around $68, with most tours falling between $54 and $77. While some budget-friendly entry-level tickets exist, full-day guided experiences generally land in that higher band. Always check if hotel pickup or meals are included, as these add-ons can shift the final value.

Yes, private tours are a significant part of this category. Roughly half of the options we compare (8 out of 15) are tagged as private tours. This is unusually high compared to other temple visits, giving travellers more flexibility over their schedule and group size. If you prefer a dedicated guide and no strangers, look for listings explicitly marked 'private' rather than 'group'.

Most tours focus on cultural sightseeing, but inclusions vary widely. Here is what to expect based on the data:

• Guide Included: Available in roughly three-quarters of options (73%).
• Hotel Pickup and Drop-off: Offered by about half of the tours (53%).
• Entry Ticket: Included in less than half of the listings (47%), so verify this before booking.
• Meals: Only about one-third of tours include food (33%).
• Transportation: Car transport is the most common method, used in 67% of options.

These are substantial day trips. The duration typically spans 7.3 to 10 hours, with a median length of 10 hours. Because the temple complex is large and often combined with nearby stops like Tirta Empul or Ubud markets, expect to be away from your hotel for most of the day. Shorter half-day options are rare in our comparison data.

Booking ahead is highly recommended for two reasons. First, only a small fraction of options (1 out of 15, or 7%) offer skip-the-line access, meaning most visitors will queue regardless. Second, while not all tours sell out instantly, 2 options (13%) are flagged as likely to sell out due to popularity. Additionally, 12 options (80%) provide instant confirmation, allowing you to secure your spot immediately without waiting for manual approval.

Guides are available in 3 languages: English, Indonesian, and Japanese. Since 80% of the tours offer instant confirmation and 67% include a guide, language availability is usually clear in the listing details. We recommend selecting your preferred language at checkout, especially since private tours (which make up 53% of options) allow you to request specific linguistic preferences directly.

The consensus is overwhelmingly positive. Across 182 pooled reviews, the average rating is 4.65 stars. Reviewers frequently use words like 'excellent', 'magnificent', and 'amazing' to describe the cultural immersion and scenery. With 99% positive sentiment across analysed products, these tours are consistently rated as highlights of a Bali trip. Most travellers find the value justified by the depth of cultural insight provided by local guides.
