Yes, if your goal is certification. Most of the tours we compare are structured as Scuba Diving Courses (67% of options), which include the necessary instruction and equipment. Only about a third of the total listings are pure recreational dives without certification components. Booking a guided course ensures you receive the formal training required for the license.

You should plan for a full day. The typical duration for these licensed courses is around 1 day. This allows sufficient time for classroom theory, confined water practice, and open water dives under the supervision of an instructor.

The majority of the options we compare are Guided Courses (56%), which often imply smaller, more focused instruction compared to large group tours. About a third are listed specifically as Group Tours (33%). Private options are less common in this specific dataset, so checking the format details before booking is recommended.

These courses are heavily focused on Adventure (100% of options) and Water Sports (78%). You can also expect a strong connection to Nature (33%), given the underwater environment. This makes them ideal for travellers looking for active, immersive experiences rather than passive sightseeing.

It depends on the specific listing. Only about 22% of the options explicitly state that Certification Included is part of the package. Since this is a minority share, you must verify the inclusions carefully. Many courses may charge for the certification card or paperwork separately, so look for explicit mentions of this inclusion.

Given the adventure focus and full-day duration, these courses are best suited for travellers seeking an active challenge and willing to commit a full day to learning. They are not suitable for casual swimmers looking for a quick dip. The structured nature of the Guided Courses makes them ideal for beginners who want a clear path to obtaining their license.
