Shizuoka Fuji Express Train Tours & Tickets

When comparing the 6 options we track across booking platforms, prices are tightly clustered. Most tours fall in the $27–$28 range, with a median of $27. You will not find significantly cheaper or more expensive alternatives for this specific train ride experience.

This is exclusively a Train Ride. Every single option we compare (100%) focuses on the journey itself rather than a guided sightseeing walk or a complex multi-stop itinerary. It is designed for travellers who want to enjoy the scenery from the comfort of the carriage.

Booking ahead is recommended to secure your preferred time slot. Fortunately, instant confirmation is available on all 6 options we compare. This means you can typically reserve your spot online and receive immediate verification without waiting for manual approval.

Inclusion varies by operator. About one-third of the options we compare (33%) explicitly include an entry ticket or transport ticket in the listed price. For the remaining two-thirds, you may need to purchase your train ticket separately or verify if the fare is already covered. Always check the "what's included" section before confirming.

The vast majority of these experiences are self-guided. Roughly 83% of the options we compare operate without a dedicated tour leader onboard, allowing you to explore at your own pace. Only a small minority offer a guided commentary format.

Given that the experience is primarily a train ride and mostly self-guided, it suits independent travellers who prefer flexibility over structured group activities. It is ideal for those who want to enjoy the views of Shizuoka at their own speed without the schedule constraints of a guided group tour.

Transport is straightforward: you travel entirely by train. All 6 options we compare rely on the railway network as the sole mode of transport. There are no bus transfers or walking segments required as part of the core tour structure.

Take a highway bus from Shizuoka Station to Gotemba or Fujinomiya. Buses run frequently during climbing season.
