Tokyo Kintsugi Art Classes

Across the 74 tour options we compare, prices generally fall between $41 and $138, with a median price of $89. While you may see listings as low as $14 or as high as $246, the vast majority of workshops sit within that core range. Private tours tend to be on the higher end, while standard group sessions often align closer to the median.

For most travellers, yes. The data shows that 46% of the options include a guide, and reviews consistently highlight the experience as wonderful and special. A guided session ensures you learn the traditional techniques properly, whereas DIY kits lack the cultural context. Additionally, 32% of tours provide all necessary materials, so you do not need to bring anything or buy supplies separately.

You have solid multilingual support. We find options offered in 7 languages: English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Russian. If you require instruction in a language other than English or Japanese, check the specific listing details before booking, as availability varies by provider.

Most sessions last between 1 and 2 hours, with a median duration of about 1.5 hours. This timeframe is usually sufficient to complete the repair process and learn the philosophy behind the craft without feeling rushed. Be aware that some private or extended cultural experiences may run longer, but the standard hands-on workshop fits neatly into a half-day itinerary.

These categories are quite niche for this specific activity. Only 2 options (about 3%) are tagged as family-friendly, and 4 options (5%) are marked as eco-friendly. These tags are loosely applied by platforms and do not imply certification. If sustainability or child-friendliness is a priority, review the specific description of each listing carefully rather than relying on these broad tags.

Booking ahead is strongly recommended. While only 2 options (roughly 3%) are currently flagged as likely to sell out, the high demand indicated by an average rating of 4.88 stars across 3,012 reviews suggests popular slots fill up quickly. About 51% of the tours we compare offer instant confirmation, allowing you to secure your spot immediately after payment.

Flexibility is widely available. Roughly 42% of the options (31 out of 74) offer free cancellation. This makes it easy to reserve a slot early and adjust later if your travel schedule shifts. Always verify the cancellation policy on the specific platform you use, as terms can vary between providers.

Many small shops and ramen bars are cash only. Always carry yen for these places to avoid issues.

Take the Narita Express train or Keisei Skyliner. These are faster and more comfortable than buses.

Tipping is not customary and can cause confusion. Excellent service is standard and included in the price.
