Across the options we compare, prices typically span $143–$584, with a median cost of around $266. The most affordable listings start near $143, while premium private experiences can reach up to $522 or slightly higher. Because these are largely full-day private tours, the investment covers more than just admission; it includes dedicated transport and guiding.

The vast majority of options are private tours. Out of the 5 tour types we compare, 4 (or 80%) are tagged as private tours. This means you will likely have your own driver and guide rather than sharing a van with strangers. If you prefer a shared group experience, those are rare on this route, so booking ahead is essential if you want that specific format.

Most tours run between 8 and 10 hours, with the median duration sitting at 10 hours. Since the island is located outside central Shanghai, the travel time is significant. You should plan for a full day commitment, including transit from the city center and time spent exploring the wetlands and parks.

About 40% of the options include hotel pickup and drop-off. This means roughly 2 of the 5 tours we compare handle your transfer from your accommodation. For the remaining listings, you may need to meet at a designated starting point. It is worth checking the specific itinerary details before booking to see if door-to-door service is part of the package.

Guides are offered in English and Chinese. While Mandarin is standard, English-speaking guides are available across the compared options. However, since only a small number of tours exist overall, availability can be tight. We recommend confirming language preference explicitly when reserving your spot.

Yes, the experience is heavily focused on nature. All 5 options we compare are themed around Nature (100%), reflecting the island's status as Shanghai's ecological backyard. Additionally, 40% of the tours (2 options) are specifically tagged as eco-friendly. These tours often prioritize sustainable practices and visits to protected wetland areas.
