Seoul Day Trips: Pyeongchang Trout Fest

When comparing options across booking platforms, most tours cost between $41 and $90, with a median price of around $50. While you may find listings as low as $36 or as high as $185, the bulk of available experiences sit in that mid-range. We always recommend checking multiple sites to find the best value for your budget.

The standout experience here is ice fishing, which makes up the largest share of options at 60% of the tours we compare. Sightseeing tours are the next most common type at 33%. Other activities include winter sports, sledding, and general festival tours. If you are looking for a hands-on cultural activity, the ice fishing packages are the clear majority choice.

These are typically full-day commitments. The duration ranges from about 10 hours to 1.7 days, with a median length of 12 hours. You should plan for a significant portion of your day, as most options are designed as day trips rather than quick half-day visits.

Yes, but they are not the standard format. Only 2 of the options we compare (roughly 13%) are private tours. The vast majority (73%) are group tours. If you prefer a personalized itinerary without sharing the vehicle or guide with strangers, you will need to look specifically for those few private listings.

Transportation is a key feature for many travelers since Pyeongchang is outside Seoul. About 27% of the options include bus transport, and 13% use shuttle buses. Hotel pickup and drop-off is included in 20% of the tours. Entry tickets and equipment are also provided in roughly 20% of the listings each. Be sure to check the "what's included" section carefully, as basic ticket-only options do exist.

Guides are offered in 4 languages: English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. This multilingual support is standard across the major platforms we compare, making it easier for international travelers to join these group activities without language barriers.

The tours have an average rating of 4.65★ based on 1,484 pooled reviews across platforms. Reviewers frequently describe the trip as the "best experience" and "so much fun." However, because the theme is heavily nature and winter-focused, a recurring note is that it can be quite freezing. Dress warmly if you choose one of these outdoor activities.
