Compare Best Half Day Tours: Hondarribia & San Juan

Prices for the options we compare range from $64 to $265, with a median price of $121. While you may see listings as low as $59 or as high as $484 depending on group size and transport mode, most tours fall within that core band. Since these are private experiences, costs often scale based on whether you book a full van or just a car.

Yes, roughly half of the options we compare (3 out of 6) are structured as private tours. This is a distinctive feature of this specific itinerary compared to standard city walks. The other half are typically small-group sightseeing tours. If you want an exclusive guide and vehicle for your party, look for the listings explicitly marked as private.

Most tours last around 4 hours. This allows enough time to travel between the three distinct locations: the historic Old Town of Hondarribia, the fishing village of San Juan, and the coastal views of San Pedro. It is designed as a half-day experience rather than a full-day excursion.

Guides are available in 5 languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese. When booking through our comparison platforms, you can filter by language preference to ensure your guide speaks your preferred tongue.

Transportation varies by listing. About half of the options include transport via car or minivan, while another significant portion uses a bus or boat. Roughly half of all options include hotel pickup and drop-off, which is convenient since the three towns are spread along the coast but not always connected by direct walking paths.

It is highly recommended to book ahead. All 6 options we compare offer free cancellation, so you can secure your spot risk-free. Additionally, 5 of the 6 options provide instant confirmation, meaning you can lock in your guide and transport immediately. Given the private nature of many tours and limited daily slots, walk-up availability is rare.

The average rating across pooled reviews is 4.86 stars from 225 combined reviews. Travelers frequently describe the guides as "very nice" and appreciate the cultural depth. However, a recurring note in reviews mentions that "many venues" are closed, which is common in smaller Basque towns outside peak season or on weekdays. This makes the guided commentary and external sights even more valuable.
