When comparing the 19 options we track across booking platforms, prices typically range from $561 to $1,060, with a median of around $605. The full spread is wider, running from about $372 for shorter or basic flights up to $4,267 for premium private experiences. Because these are high-value activities, you will rarely find budget sub-$100 options.

Most flights last between 44 minutes and 3.4 hours, with the median experience lasting about 1 hour. While many tours are quick scenic hops, nearly half of the options we compare extend into longer adventure formats that include land-based activities like ATV riding or guided geological walks after landing.

Booking ahead is strongly recommended. While most options offer instant confirmation (roughly 63% of listings), only one option (about 5%) is currently flagged as likely to sell out. Given the narrow price band and high demand for specific time slots, securing your reservation early ensures you get the preferred departure time rather than risking limited availability on the day.

Yes, but they represent a minority of the market. Only 4 of the 19 options we compare are private tours (21%). The majority are group tours (58%) or guided shared flights (53%). If you prefer a bespoke experience without other passengers, you will need to filter specifically for those private listings, which tend to sit at the higher end of the price spectrum.

Guides and pilots operate in 4 languages: English, Italian, Portuguese, and French. Since English is widely used in Iceland’s tourism sector, it is the default language for most international operators, but if you require communication in Italian, Portuguese, or French, you should check the specific listing details before booking to confirm availability.

The consensus is overwhelmingly positive. Across 1,003 pooled reviews, the average rating is 4.84 stars, with roughly 94% of sentiment being positive. Inclusions vary by operator, but most packages cover the core flight experience. Roughly 37% of options include both the flight and a guide, while 32% include a landing on a glacier or volcano. About 11% provide additional equipment, such as helmets or specialized clothing for landing zones. Always check the "what's included" section of your chosen listing, as hotel transfers are not standard on all flights.
