Best Positano Sunset Boat Tours & Prices

When comparing the 30 tour options we track across booking platforms, prices generally fall between $420 and $708, with a median price of $529. While the full spread ranges from around $73 to $1,446 depending on vessel type and group size, most travellers will find standard experiences in that mid-range band. We always recommend checking multiple OTAs like Viator or GetYourGuide to find the best current rate for your preferred date.

Yes, private charters are a dominant feature of this category. Roughly 70% of the options we compare (21 listings) are offered as private tours, meaning you can charter the entire boat for your party rather than joining a larger group. This high share makes it easier to find a bespoke experience tailored to your schedule, though it naturally sits at the higher end of the price spectrum compared to shared group departures.

Most tours last between 2 and 3 hours, with the median duration sitting at exactly 2 hours. The full range of available options spans from about 1.5 to 4.5 hours, allowing you to choose a quick sunset dip or a longer evening cruise depending on your energy levels and itinerary. We suggest checking the specific departure time and length when booking, as shorter trips may not cover all coastal viewpoints.

You can find guides offering tours in 6 languages: English, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and French. Since roughly half of the options include a guide, language availability is a key filter when searching. If you require a specific language other than English or Italian, we recommend verifying the guide's profile directly on the booking platform before confirming your reservation.

Booking ahead is highly recommended for sunset slots. While only a small fraction (7% or 2 listings) are currently flagged as likely to sell out, the popularity of this activity means prime evening times disappear quickly. Additionally, 63% of options (19 listings) offer free cancellation, so you can secure your spot early without risking your budget if plans change. Instant confirmation is also available on 67% of tours, making last-minute changes easier if needed.

Inclusions vary significantly by operator, but common features you might find include:

• Drinks: Included in 40% of options
• Meals/Snacks: Provided in 33% of options
• Professional Guide: On board for 23% of options
• Equipment/Towels: Supplied by 17% of operators

Since only half of the tours are fully guided, be sure to check whether your chosen option includes a captain-only service or a full crew with commentary. Water and sunscreen are often not included unless specified.

The consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with an average rating of 4.61 stars across 634 pooled reviews. Travelers frequently use words like "stunning," "breathtaking," and "perfect" to describe the views and service. The primary theme mentioned in feedback is relaxation, aligning with the fact that 87% of these tours are themed around leisure. We see very few negative outliers, suggesting consistent quality across the major booking platforms.

Take the SITA bus along the coastal road. It is affordable but can be crowded during peak season.

Parking is extremely limited and expensive. Use public lots outside the town center and walk or take a shuttle up.

Bring sturdy walking shoes with good grip. The streets are steep, uneven, and often slippery due to stone steps.
