Explore Monet’s Giverny Gardens & Home

Prices vary widely depending on the level of service and inclusions. Most options we compare fall between $103 and $583, with a median price of around $251. While the full spread can reach from as low as $26 to over $1,639 for premium private experiences, budget travelers should expect to pay at least $100 for a standard guided visit. Always check what is included, as basic entry tickets are significantly cheaper than full-day tours with transport.

Most tours last between 5 and 11.5 hours, with a median duration of about 6 hours. This time usually covers round-trip travel from Paris, the walk through the gardens, and the guided or self-guided exploration of the house. Shorter options exist but are rare; if you want a relaxed pace to enjoy the water lilies and flower beds without rushing, plan for a half-day commitment.

Skip-the-line access is available but not the norm. Only 8% of the options (about 8 listings) explicitly include priority entry. Since the house itself has limited capacity and queues can form during peak season, booking a tour that includes this benefit is highly recommended if you are visiting in summer. However, note that garden access often does not require skipping lines, so the value depends on whether your main concern is the house interior.

Transportation is included in many options, but not all. Roughly 34% of tours offer hotel pickup and drop-off, while another 29% include general transport (which may involve meeting at a central location). The most common modes of transport are bus (34%) and car (22%). If you prefer not to navigate public trains from Paris, look for a tour labeled as including 'Hotel Pickup' or 'Transport Included' to ensure door-to-door service.

Private tours are a significant portion of the market, accounting for 37% of the options. They offer flexibility in timing and personalized attention from the guide, which is valuable given the cultural and historical depth of the site. Group tours make up 29% of the listings and are generally more affordable. If you are traveling with family or want to set your own pace, the higher cost of a private tour (often at the upper end of the price band) may be worth it. Otherwise, a small group or standard guided tour provides excellent value.

Tours are available in 8 languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, and German. Since 62% of options include a human guide, language choice is critical for those who prefer spoken commentary over audio guides. When filtering results, verify the specific language of the guide, as some multi-lingual operators may rotate guides based on demand.

The aggregated rating across 24,303 reviews is strong at 4.56 stars, with roughly 88% of analyzed products receiving positive sentiment. Travelers frequently use words like 'excellent,' 'amazing,' and 'knowledgeable' to describe their experience. The high praise often centers on the guides' expertise regarding Monet's life and the beauty of the gardens. There are no widespread complaints in the data, suggesting consistent quality across major providers.

Stick to well-lit carriages near the driver. Avoid empty trains late at night and keep valuables hidden.

Yes, tap water is safe. Ask for 'une carafe d'eau' to get free filtered water instead of paying for bottled options.

Keep bags zipped and in front of you. Be wary of distractions like strangers asking for directions or signatures.
