The experience style also leans strongly cultural, with 88% centred on cultural themes and 79% touching on history, so this is much more about seeing places and understanding them than adrenaline activities.

The clearest planning number is the middle of the market: most tours we compare are priced at $58–$330, with a median of $189. There is a much wider overall spread, roughly $23–$2,521, which usually reflects the difference between shorter standard trips and longer or more exclusive private itineraries.

It depends on whether you're booking a short overview or a multi-day trip. Typical durations run from about 3 hours to about 4.5 days, with a median of 7 hours. In practice, that means many travellers are choosing a full-day experience, while others go for either a shorter city-style introduction or a longer regional itinerary.

Inclusions vary quite a bit, so it is worth checking each listing carefully. Among the tours we compare, the most common inclusions are:

• Guide included, on about 23% of options
• Meals included, on about 8%
• Entry tickets included, on about 7%
• Hotel pickup and drop-off, on about 5%

That means many tours are still fairly modular, where transport or guiding may be included but extras are not.

The most common transport mode is bus, used by 27% of the options we compare. After that come car-based tours at 14% and walking tours at 10%, with a small number using boats. For travellers, that usually means the market skews toward broader sightseeing routes rather than purely on-foot experiences.
