The options we compare across booking platforms lean heavily toward relaxation, with 96% of tours tagged for that theme. When it comes to activity structure, accommodation packages and hot spring visits are the most common formats, each accounting for 38% of the listings. This mix suggests that visitors looking for a traditional stay or bath experience will find the widest selection.

You can find some budget-friendly entry points starting from approximately $38, while comprehensive private experiences may reach up to $279. We recommend checking specific dates, as prices fluctuate based on demand and availability across different platforms.

Yes, but they represent a small fraction of the total inventory. Only 12% of the options we compare (roughly 3 out of 24) are structured as private tours. The vast majority of listings are group or standard admission experiences. If you require a dedicated guide or exclusive access, you will need to filter specifically for these private formats, as they are not the default offering.

Transportation is a key component of many bookings. 42% of the tours we compare include train travel as part of the itinerary, making it the most common mode of transport. Bus services are included in 12% of options, while walking tours make up 8%. Many other listings focus solely on the destination experience itself, leaving local transit to be arranged independently by the traveller.

Booking ahead is generally recommended for peace of mind, though logistics are flexible. All 24 of the tour options we compare offer instant confirmation, meaning you do not need to wait for manual approval after purchase. However, popular time slots for accommodation and hot spring access can sell out, especially during peak seasons. Securing your reservation early ensures you get your preferred date, even if the confirmation process is immediate.

Inclusions vary significantly by provider, but meals and bath access are the primary value-adds. Roughly 17% of the options include meals, while 8% explicitly list hot spring access as part of the package. It is important to read the fine print, as many lower-priced tickets cover only admission or transport without additional amenities. If dining or bathing is a priority, look for listings that clearly highlight these inclusions rather than assuming they are standard.

Sustainability tags are present but limited in this specific category. Only 3 of the options we compare (approximately 12%) are tagged as eco-friendly by their respective platforms. These tags indicate that the operator follows certain environmental practices, but travellers should note that such designations are self-reported and not necessarily certified. If sustainability is a high priority, you will need to carefully review the descriptions of those few specific listings.
