Most tours last between 1.5 and 2 hours, which provides enough time to enjoy the harbour views without committing to a full day at sea. The median duration across our compared options is exactly 2 hours. This timeframe strikes a balance between relaxation and sightseeing, allowing guests to see key landmarks like the Gateway of India and the Taj Mahal Palace from the water.

Yes, private options are very common here. Roughly 65% of the tours we compare (11 out of 17) are private tours. This high share suggests that solo travellers, couples, or small groups often prefer exclusive charters over shared group sails. If you want a personalised experience where the captain can tailor the route or timing to your preferences, a private booking is likely your best bet.

The majority of these experiences are all-inclusive regarding refreshments and transport logistics. Specifically:

• Drinks are included in roughly 82% of the options.
• Hotel pickup and drop-off is provided by about 47% of the tours.
• Equipment (such as life jackets) is supplied by 35% of operators.
• A guide is present on only 24% of the sails, meaning many are self-guided or captain-led rather than fully narrated historical tours.
• Meals are less common, appearing in just 18% of the listings.

You will find availability in three languages: English, Hindi, and Marathi. English is widely spoken among tour operators to accommodate international visitors, while Hindi and Marathi cater to local and regional guests. When booking, check the specific listing details to confirm the primary language of instruction or commentary, especially if you require a non-English speaking guide.

Booking ahead is highly recommended, particularly for private slots. About 76% of the options we compare offer instant confirmation, but popular times can sell out quickly given the high demand for sunset sails. Additionally, 59% of the tours allow free cancellation, so you can secure your spot early without financial risk if your plans change.
