Compare Top Montevideo Wine Tours

When comparing the 27 tour options we track across booking platforms, prices typically range from $68 to $210, with a median of around $95. While you may occasionally find listings starting as low as $44 or going up to $354, the bulk of available experiences fall within that core band. Prices vary based on inclusions like meals, private transport, and group size.

Most tours last between 1.5 and 5.7 hours, with the median experience taking about 3 hours. This timeframe allows for a comfortable pace, including travel between locations and ample time for tasting. Shorter options are often focused strictly on the tasting itself, while longer durations usually include a guided city segment or a full meal.

Yes, but they represent a small minority of the market. Out of the 27 options we compare, only 6 (roughly 22%) are tagged as private tours. The vast majority are guided group experiences. If you prefer a bespoke itinerary or a smaller party, you will need to filter specifically for these private listings, which often command a higher price point.

Booking ahead is strongly recommended. Only 5 of the options we track (about 19%) offer instant confirmation, meaning most require prior reservation. Additionally, 6 tours (around 22%) offer free cancellation, providing flexibility if your plans change. Given that popular slots can fill up, securing your spot via an OTA before arrival ensures availability.

These tours are quite international, being offered in 8 different languages: Spanish, Portuguese, English, Italian, French, Hindi, German, and Russian. This wide linguistic coverage makes it easier for non-Spanish speakers to join, though it is wise to verify the specific language guide when booking, especially for private or small-group variants.

Transportation is not universally included. Roughly 15% of the options we compare explicitly list hotel pickup and drop-off as part of the package. For the remaining majority, you will likely need to arrange your own transfer to the meeting point, often via car or walking. Always check the 'Inclusions' section of your chosen listing to confirm if logistics are covered.

The aggregated sentiment is highly positive, with an average rating of 4.43 stars across 123 pooled reviews. Common themes in feedback highlight the fun atmosphere, the beautiful settings, and the quality of the wine. Reviewers frequently describe them as nice walking tours and give high recommendations, noting excellent service from guides.

Exercise caution in the Ciudad Vieja area after dark. Stick to well-lit main streets and avoid isolated alleys.

Most places prefer Uruguayan pesos. Some tourist spots accept dollars but offer poor exchange rates. Use ATMs instead.

Take a licensed taxi or ride-share app like Cabify. Public buses are cheaper but less convenient with luggage.
