Yes, private tours are a significant portion of what we compare here. About 32% of the options (7 listings) are tagged as private tours. This is unusually high for this type of activity and gives you the flexibility to set your own pace and itinerary. If you prefer a dedicated guide and boat rather than joining a larger group, these private options provide that exclusive experience.

Since the Amazon River Tour focuses on nature and wildlife, almost all experiences rely on water transport. 91% of the options include a boat trip, with the majority being standard boat tours (45%) or cruise and sailing experiences (41%). A smaller share involves speedboats (23%) for faster transit, and only about 14% include any walking components. You should expect to spend most of your time on the water rather than on foot.

Duration varies widely because the options range from short half-day excursions to extended expeditions. The typical length sits between 4 hours and 4.9 days, with a median duration of about 7.8 hours. Most travellers looking for a single day out will find plenty of options lasting around half a day, while those seeking immersion can choose multi-day packages.
