Philae Temple Tours from Luxor

When comparing the 6 options we track across booking platforms, most full-day tours fall in the $157–$232 range, with a median price of $178. You may find some listings starting around $105 or going up to $325, but the bulk of value-for-money packages sit within that central band. Prices vary based on whether you choose a private guide or join a small group.

Yes, for most travellers. All 6 of the options we compare include a professional guide, which is essential for understanding the temple's history and mythology. Additionally, roughly two-thirds (4 out of 6) offer hotel pickup and drop-off, sparing you the hassle of arranging local transport. While a basic entry ticket is cheaper, the guided experience adds significant context and convenience.

There is a strong preference for private arrangements here. About two-thirds (4 out of 6) of the tours we compare are private tours, allowing for a customized pace and itinerary. The remaining options are group tours, which can be more social but follow a fixed schedule. If you prefer flexibility, the private options are the clear majority choice.

Most comprehensive packages go beyond just temple entry. Based on the data, here is what is commonly included:

• Professional guide (100% of options)
• Hotel pickup and drop-off (roughly 67%)
• Boat ride to the island (50%)
• Felucca ride (50%)
• Drinks (50%)

Since all options include a guide and most include transport, you rarely need to book these elements separately.

These are substantial day trips. The duration typically ranges from about 10 to 13.5 hours, with a median of 12 hours. This accounts for travel time, the boat crossing, and the guided exploration of the temple complex. Plan your day accordingly, as this is not a quick half-day visit.

The options we compare are available in 8 different languages: English, Spanish, German, Traditional Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and French. This wide selection makes it easy to find a guide who speaks your preferred language comfortably.

Booking ahead is recommended, especially for private slots, as popular times fill up. The good news is that flexibility is high: 100% of the options we compare offer free cancellation and instant confirmation. This means you can secure your spot now and adjust plans later if needed, without financial penalty.

Use local microbuses or hire a private driver. Taxis are available but agree on fares first.

Main areas are generally safe. Stick to well lit streets and avoid isolated alleys after dark.

Buy tickets at the main entrance early morning. A single ticket allows entry to three tombs of your choice.
