Best-Rated Changing of the Guard Experiences in London

Prices for the options we compare across booking platforms typically range from $23 to $125, with a median price of $36. The full spread can extend from around $19 for basic walking tours up to $399 for private experiences. Most standard guided tours fall within the lower half of that band.

Most tours last between 2 and 4 hours, with the median duration sitting at 2 hours. Since the majority are walking-based, you should plan for a moderate amount of time on your feet rather than a quick photo stop.

Accessibility is limited in this category. Only about 2% of the options we compare (3 listings) are tagged as wheelchair accessible. If mobility access is a priority, you will need to filter carefully or contact the operator directly before booking.

You have solid multilingual coverage. Tours are offered in 8 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, and Chinese. This makes it easier to find a guide who speaks your preferred language compared to some other London landmarks.

Skip-the-line access is rare for this specific experience. Only 1% of the options we compare (1 listing) includes it. Since most of these are outdoor public viewing events or walking tours rather than museum entries, advance booking is more about securing a spot with a guide than bypassing a queue.

The sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. Across 24,600 pooled reviews, the average rating is 4.48 stars. Reviewers frequently use words like "great," "knowledgeable," and "fantastic" to describe their guides. While the vast majority praise the experience, a small number of reviews mention that crowds can be dense during peak times.

Private tours make up about 21% of the options we compare (26 listings) and tend to sit at the higher end of the price spectrum (up to $399). They suit travellers who want flexibility and personalized attention. However, 91% of options are guided tours and 31% are group tours, which offer better value if you are comfortable sharing the experience with others.
