Compare Top-Rated Horseback Tours in SMA

Across the 12 options we compare, prices typically range from $154 to $198, with a median of $176. You can find listings as low as $119 or as high as $292, depending on duration and inclusions. Since these are guided experiences rather than basic rentals, the price usually covers professional instruction, equipment, and often meals.

The vast majority of tours (92%) are guided rides where you travel by horse. While only about half include a dedicated guide and roughly a third provide meals, nearly all options supply the necessary riding equipment. Common inclusions across the top-rated listings feature:

• Professional guide
• Riding gear (helmets, boots)
• A meal or snack (often an almuerzo)

Duration varies significantly, ranging from about 2 hours to 7.8 hours, with a median of 4 hours. If you want a comprehensive experience that includes lunch and extensive trail time, look for the longer options near the 7-hour mark. For a shorter introduction to the landscape, the 2-to-3-hour slots are more common and fit easily into a busy itinerary.

Yes, but they are rare. Only one of the 12 options we compare (8%) is tagged as a private tour. The overwhelming majority (92%) are guided group tours. If privacy is essential, you will need to filter specifically for that single listing; otherwise, expect to ride alongside other small groups.

Booking ahead is highly recommended. While about a quarter of the options (25%) offer instant confirmation, many require manual verification due to weather checks or horse availability. Additionally, only 33% (4 out of 12) offer free cancellation, so locking in your spot early ensures you get your preferred date and language guide.

Guides are available in five languages: English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and French. Since 92% of the tours are guided, you can request your preferred language when booking. English-speaking guides are widely available given the international nature of San Miguel de Allende.
