When comparing the 19 tour options we track across booking platforms, prices generally fall between $91 and $126, with a median of $102. You may find listings ranging from around $53 to $285 depending on the format. Budget-friendly walking tours tend to sit at the lower end, while private or extended experiences often exceed $200.

Most tours last between 2 and 8 hours, with the median experience running about 6 hours. Since roughly three-quarters of the options are walking-focused, you can expect a moderate pace that allows for deeper exploration of the cultural sites rather than a quick drive-by sightseeing trip.

Booking ahead is highly recommended, especially for weekend slots, as popular guides fill up quickly. The good news is that flexibility is common: roughly half (58%) of the tours we compare offer free cancellation, and many provide instant confirmation so you can secure your spot without waiting for manual approval.

Yes, private tours are a significant part of this category. About one-third (32%) of the options listed are private tours, which is unusually high compared to standard city activities. These allow you to customize the itinerary and pace, though they naturally come at a higher price point than the shared group experiences.

Guides are available in five languages: English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and French. When selecting an option, be sure to check the specific language listing, as not every guide offers all five, particularly for the smaller private groups.

Inclusions vary by operator, but most tours include a professional guide (68%). Some packages also cover meals (16%), drinks (26%), or hotel pickup and drop-off (21%). Entry tickets are less commonly bundled (11%), so it is wise to verify whether museum or site fees are extra before booking.
