This activity takes place at a working sled dog kennel. The dogs are friendly, though boisterous and clumsy sometimes. This facility cannot accommodate wheelchairs. People with mobility issues need to contact us before booking. This is an Alaskan Homestead and includes a heated outhouse and wood stove heated gathering space.

Half Day "Drive Your Own Dog Team" Dog Sledding Tour

This trip is designed for those eager to experience an authentic Alaskan mushing experience -driving your own dog team! This is the real deal - you are an active participant in this adventure. No previous mushing experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to know to feel comfortable and equipped for your time on the trail. You are accompanied at all times by a professional dog sledding guide who oversees the whole experience, allowing you to relax enjoy the thrill of driving your own dog team. • Certified eco-tour company. • Meet friendly and beautiful Siberian Huskies. • Visit an off-grid homestead and kennel. • Drive your own dog team through beautiful old growth boreal forest. • Home-baked snacks and hot drinks included. • Cold weather gear provided. • Professional guide • 2-3 hour experience. Go dogsledding in the heart of Alaska with our powerful Alaskan Huskies. The golden heart of Alaska ,Fairbanks is your starting point to your journey with our amazing sleddog team. Learn to control your own dog team on your own sled , guided by our experienced mushers which did 1000 mile long-distance races as the Iditarod and Yukon Quest. You'll prepare your team with putting on harnesses and putting them in line. With 4-6 dogs in front of your sled your adventure begins. You'll get all informations about sledding before when you are on the sled then you have to handle your team by your own while following your guide. Sledding and Homesteading Adventure

This is a 1.5 mile mini mushing activity that circles our property through black spruce, alders, and birch trees. The actual sledding time is 15-20 minutes. Full activity time is 1-1.5 hours. In the beginning we will go over how to ride on and in your tandem dog sleds. Once we have this out of the way we can create some noise and meet the dogs! While you enjoy kisses and hugs from your loving huskies we will harness and hook up the team. Once hooked up we will head out onto your trails around the property with great views from high on a ridge. There are ample opportunities for photos along the way and plenty of cuddle time when we return to the kennel. The Kennel visit will take place either before or after your sled ride, dependent on weather, the dogs, and your guide's schedule.
