Compare Best Datong to Pingyao Tours

When comparing options across booking platforms, prices generally fall between $267 and $988, with a median cost of around $631. The full spread of available listings ranges from approximately $213 to $1,015. Because these are almost exclusively private tours that include transport and guides, the cost reflects a personalized experience rather than a basic entry ticket.

The data shows that 100% of the options we compare are private tours. You will not find large group bus tours in this category. This means you can expect a dedicated vehicle and guide tailored to your schedule, which aligns with the higher price point but offers significantly more flexibility for exploring both cities.

Duration varies widely depending on whether you want a day trip or an extended cultural immersion. Most tours last between 6.7 hours and 5 days, with a median duration of 3 days. Shorter options focus on the core highlights, while longer itineraries allow for deeper exploration of the historical sites in both locations.

All listed tours include transport, primarily by car (100%). Some options also incorporate rail travel, with roughly 22% featuring bullet train segments and another 22% using standard trains. This mix allows travellers to choose between the comfort of a private car or the scenic efficiency of high-speed rail between Datong and Pingyao.

Tours are offered in 2 languages: English and Chinese. Since all options are private, you will have a dedicated guide speaking one of these two languages throughout the journey. If you require a different language, you would need to check specific listing details for custom arrangements, as they are not standard across the compared inventory.

For most travellers, yes. 89% of the options include transport, and 56% include entry tickets, removing the logistical hassle of coordinating multiple bookings. Additionally, 44% provide a professional guide, adding historical context that self-guided visits often miss. The convenience of having a private driver and guide included in one price makes these tours a strong value compared to arranging each element independently.

Flexibility is available but limited. Only 33% (3 out of 9) of the tours we compare offer free cancellation. The majority require payment at the time of booking without a refund option. We recommend reviewing the specific cancellation policy for each listing carefully before confirming, especially since 89% of options offer instant confirmation, meaning your spot is secured immediately.
