Best-Selling Split Old Town Tours

Across the 31 options we compare on booking platforms, prices generally fall between $28 and $112, with a median cost of around $29. While you may occasionally see listings as low as $17 or as high as $323, most tours cluster in that lower-to-mid range. This wide spread often reflects differences in group size, private versus shared formats, and whether entry tickets are bundled.

Most tours run between 1 and 2.5 hours, with the median duration sitting at 1.5 hours. This timeframe allows for a comprehensive walk through Diocletian's Palace and surrounding historic streets without feeling rushed. If you prefer a more leisurely pace or a deeper dive into specific historical periods, look for the longer end of this spectrum.

Yes, about one third (10 of the 31) of the options we compare are private tours. This is a notably high share compared to many other city experiences. Private tours allow you to tailor the route and pace to your group, though they naturally sit at the higher end of the price band. The remaining two-thirds are primarily guided group tours.

You can find tours conducted in 7 languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, and Croatian. Since the vast majority (97%) are walking tours with a guide included, language availability is quite broad. We recommend checking the specific listing details to confirm the guide's primary language before booking.

While only 2 of the 31 options (6%) are flagged as likely to sell out, booking ahead is still wise for peak travel times. Most tours (65%) offer instant confirmation, making it easy to secure your spot. However, since popular slots can fill up quickly, especially for private or small-group formats, reserving a few days in advance is the safest approach.

Most tours include a knowledgeable guide, but amenities vary. Specifically:

• Guide Included: 77% of options
• Entry Ticket Included: 29% of options

Since entry tickets are not always included, check if your chosen tour covers palace access fees. Many travellers find value in bundling their ticket with the guide to avoid separate queues.
