There is an unusually high split between private and group formats. Roughly half of the options (50%) are private tours, offering personalised itineraries and transport. The other half includes guided group tours where you join other travellers. If you prefer flexibility or a dedicated driver-guide, look for the private listings.

Duration varies significantly depending on the format. Most tours run between 2.7 and 16.3 hours, with a median duration of about 5 hours. Shorter walks cover key landmarks, while longer formats may include extended cultural stops or multiple neighbourhoods. Check the specific listing details to match your schedule.

The options we compare cater to a broad international audience, offering guides in 8 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic. Since Dakar is a Francophone hub, French and English are widely available, but other languages are accessible through specific private or large-group operators.

Inclusions vary by operator. About two-thirds (66%) of the tours we compare include a guide, but only roughly one in eight (13%) bundle entry tickets or hotel pickup/drop-off into the base price. Always verify what is included before booking, as many operators expect you to handle transport and ticket purchases separately.
