Full-Day Safari Small Desert With Lunch
Your adventure will start with pickup from your hotel in Agadir. Head to Sidi R'bat, 1 hour and 20 minutes south of Agadir, to discover unpopulated beaches and sandbanks. Stop at the fisherman's village on the wild beach of Sidi R'bat, where you will have a chance to see the fishermen's caves, hewn in the cliffs.
Then, drive on a sandy track while looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean. You will then have a quick stop at the Oued Massa, a 120 km long coastal river by the Souss-Massa Nationalpark.
Here, if you are lucky, you will spot migrating birds, mainly the Northern bald ibis. You will also catch a quick glimpse of the beautiful Dam Youssef bin Tachfine.
After, walk around the old walled medina town and browse. Then drive towards the Atlas mountains to enjoy a traditional lunch (tajine, couscous, and seasonal fruits), with the possibility of vegetarian food as well, in a local Berber's house.
After lunch, you can roam freely in the small Sahara dunes to take photos.

AI Review Summary
Opening overview: The Full-Day Safari Small Desert With Lunch from Agadir is a consistently well-liked day trip — about 84% of reviewers gave positive feedback — with most travelers calling it a lovely, adventure-filled outing that combines coastal scenery, wildlife chances, and a traditional Berber lunch. Guests appreciate the mix of wild beaches, the Oued Massa birdwatching area, and time in small dunes for photos.
Highlights: Reviewers most often praise the beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views along the Atlantic coast and near the Souss-Massa area, plus the authentic, tasty lunch (tajine, couscous and fruit) served in a local house. Many describe the trip as a wonderful experience or great adventure — people value the photo stops, the fisherman’s caves at Sidi R'bat, and the chance (if you’re lucky) to spot migrating birds like the northern bald ibis.
Constructive critiques: A minority of guests note the downside is the amount of time spent driving (it’s a long, full-day outing) and that some vehicles or stretches aren’t the most comfortable. A few reviewers also said it wasn’t a Sahara-style desert, so expectations about “true” desert scenery should be realistic.
Overall recommendation: Recommended for nature lovers, photographers and travelers who enjoy a full, varied day trip and don’t mind some road time.
AI Travel Tips:
- Bring sun protection, plenty of water and a camera/binoculars for birdwatching — Oued Massa can reward you if you’re lucky.
- Wear comfortable shoes and layers (coastal breeze to inland warmth) and consider motion-sickness remedies if you’re sensitive to long drives.
- If you need vegetarian food or have questions about vehicle comfort, confirm options with the operator ahead of time so expectations are set.
